Rock Climbing

Donner Summit is a mecca for new and experienced climbers alike. With dome like walls, vertical cliffs with overhangs, and subtle ramps on multi-pitched slabs, this area has it all.

Both sport and traditional climbing routes exist here, in a clean, not overbolted environment. The beginner climber can top rope, a leader can clip bolts or place gear, and a soloist has ample places to boulder.

On any given summer day, a trip up old Highway 40 offers many places to stop and watch or participate.
